Design Summary:

A velvet long-sleeve gown with exaggerated flared cuffs and a rigid high neckline, this design evokes holy majesty. The unexpected cutout at the waist subverts an otherwise conservative silhouette.

Process Notes:

I had imagined a woman walking into a candle-lit cathedral — mysterious, revered, untouchable. The bell sleeves are romantic and imposing at once, inviting but not to be crossed.

Material Reference:

Emerald velvet, structured mesh lining, silk waist banding.
