Sculpted Siren

Design Summary:

It is a green mermaid silhouette with puff sleeves that balloon and taper into corseting in the bodice and bloom open again into a flared trumpeted skirt. It’s all about silhouette the resonance of volume from top to bottom.

Process Notes:

Taking cues from sea goddesses and a golden age of red carpet royalty, this sketch plays with both exaggeration and balance. The puff sleeves give a feeling of authority, and the cinched waist provides softness.

Material Reference:

Satin duchess with internal boning and gathered tulle understructure.
